Building the Future: 15 NHCN Members Complete Intensive Training at Minago

At Minago, we believe that the strength of our operations comes from the strength of our people. We are incredibly proud to share the success of our recent training program, which took place from October 2025 to January 2026.

This project was incredibly successful, training 15 NHCN members in critical quarry skills of drilling and blasting, rock crushing and roadwork, with hands-on training on heavy equipment that will be used in our quarry operation.

With over 2,700 hours of on-site training these workers have gained a key understanding of these processes, which will make them well positions for the future jobs when Minago opens the quarry for production later this year.

Spending over 850 person-days in a remote camp has also given these workers and understanding and appreciation for what life in mining is like and a taste of camp life and being away from home to work.

To add to our success, none of the workers quit the program before the work was complete, none complained about camp life and no one was injured in the work

By the Numbers The scale of the work done by these trainees is impressive:

  • Laborer and operator training sessions for common core and first aid were completed by all trainees

  • The blasting work used 16,490 kg of explosives to create 20,000 tonnes of dolomite for crushing.

  • 136 holes, 4" wide, were drilled by the drilling/blasting team.

  • The dolomite was crushed by the crushing crew and stockpiled. Some was used for the roadwork.

  • All trainees and trainors were lodged at a remote campsite near Minago. Two hot meals were provided, plus a bag lunch.

  • No injuries were reported o All trainees were members of NHCN
