Norway House Cree Nation chief and council are pleased to announce they have renamed the Minago Project to the Minago Critical Minerals Project
The name change reflects the recent additions of other critical minerals that are generally associated with nickel deposits, known as platinum group metals (PGMs), which include Platinum, Palladium, Ruthenium, and Rhodium along with previously confirmed Magnesium. PGMs have been classified by Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States as critical minerals and are priorities for development as part of Canada’s critical minerals strategy.
Norway House Cree Nation announces that it has purchased the Minago Project from the Flying Nickel Mining Corp.
Chief Larson Anderson of NHCN confirms that “By taking full control with 100% ownership and management, we can drive this project forward, focus on the environment, maximize employment, and build economic opportuni es for our people.” The Minago Project is located on the NHCN Resource Management Area, 107 km north of Grand Rapids and 450 km north of Winnipeg, Manitoba, adjacent to Highway 6. The Minago project property comprises 94 mining claims, covering 192.36 km2, and two mining leases, covering 4.25 km2 along with the core storage and management facility in Grand Rapids

Norway House Cree Nation announces their participation in the PDAC international mining conference in Toronto, March 2 - 5
Participating at the PDAC conference gives NHCN the opportunity to engage in conversations with attendees to discuss the opportunities this mining project presents. We are looking for strategic partners who want to take this journey with us. We have built a strong leadership team with expertise ranging from business development and geology to drilling and mining. We have already begun training programs to ready the community for job opportunities
